How to search Inform - The first 3 letter of the drug name (ideally non-proprietary or ‘generic’ titles) are the minimum requirement for the Search box. Click on “Formulary Results” to see a list of products available, their Traffic Light classifications and any NICE/AWMSG advice. To see all medicines in a particular class, use the chapter headings on the left of the screen and click on the “+” signs to open the section you require. Click on a drug name to display the monograph which will show on the right hand side of the screen
Non-Formulary drugs - These are NOT displayed in the 'BNF tree' on the L/H side of this INFORM web-page and will appear under a 'Non-Formulary Results' heading if searched for
Non-Formulary drugs do NOT have a Traffic Light classification
Note ongoing prescribing of a Non-Formulary medicine granted ‘exceptional use’ approval (see Exceptional Request Form) must remain the responsibility of the specialist prescriber – GP practices should not be asked to accept ongoing prescribing responsibility in these cases
